As powerful as the MasterStream® Method
is in influencing others, its greatest area for life-changing impact
is at the individual level. Applying the MasterStream Method to
the individual, the Accountable Self helps participants to "conquer
the 80% existence."
In today's fast-paced world, everyone has unfinished business.
Some things are professional projects that have never left the
drawing board, and some things have been on a
"to-do" list for far too long, yet never seem to get
any closer to completion. Among those countless pieces of unfinished
business, exercise, good nutrition and plenty of rest are all
good examples of things we all know are important for us to do
— but, if our level of productive tension about any of
those activities isn't high enough, they will most definitely
be given nothing more than a passing glance, routinely overlooked
or ignored altogether. This pattern leads to a self-perpetuating,
downward spiral as the lack of completion of tasks leaves someone
with feelings of shame, guilt and
a sense of emptyness and failure — thus, pushing the individual
deeper into dysfunction, ensuring that more and more tasks to
go unfinished.
The fact is that all tasks
carry within them specific levels of importance, challenge and
preparation. Tasks with great amounts
of these elements will command our immediate attention — but
let a task be lacking in ANY of those three elements, and struggle
and failure will result. This
can lead to starting many tasks, but finishing few — a jack
of all trades, but a master of none.
The Accountable Self provides a system for identifying and eliminating
the barriers preventing completion of a targeted list of objectives.
It is structured around a self-diagnostic tool that helps people
clarify the tasks in their life that are most important to them,
then analyze those tasks to determine the level of readiness
they possess in achieving those objectives. Finally, the Accountable
Self helps the indvidual create a focused strategic plan of action
that will result in feelings of pride and accomplishment, enabling
them to become a finisher in a world of starters.
The Accountable Self is available from Certified
MasterStream Professionals holding the designation of Certified ChangeWorks!
Analyst, and is offered in formats ranging from a 1-hour keynote
address to a 3-day intensive retreat and can also serve as the foundation
for a coaching series of up 12 months.
